Chapter 2 · 2.4
Saving: how automatic saving works
Watch it in a short video
In Euro-Office, you don't need to save your work yourself. Everything you type is saved automatically. If you're working together with others, they'll see your changes straight away.
The Save button
At the top left of the toolbar, you'll still find a Save button (1). Use this when you want to be sure your latest change has been saved right away, for example just before you close the window. You can also press Ctrl + S (on Mac, Cmd + S).

Restoring an older version
Nextcloud automatically keeps older versions of your file. Accidentally deleted something? You can restore an earlier version. Find out how in Version History: restoring an older version.
When is the file in Nextcloud updated?
Euro-Office saves your changes straight away, but the file in Nextcloud itself is only fully updated once everyone has closed the document. Want to download the file or open it on your computer? Close the document first. Read more about this in You don't see your changes when you download the file or open it on your computer.
Saving a copy
Want to keep the original as it is and carry on working in a copy? Choose File and then Save copy as. You can then choose a new name and, if you like, a different format.
